19.05.2019 – I.S.R. racing had a tougher than expected appointment at the circuit of Most (CZ) during the second round of ADAC GT Masters 2019.

The Czech outfit joined this year the exciting German series for Grand Touring cars for the second time and has been busy with Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Frank Stippler at the wheel of the #33 Audi R8 LMS on the home circuit this weekend, resolute to build on the fifth place scored here last year.

As usual, gaps have been small in Most too and Filip Salaquarda posted a 1’31.411s as best lap in Q1, that was the seventeenth time just 0.2s off the top ten. Q2 has been exciting again on Sunday morning and Stippler’s best lap was completed in 1’31.267s, a time that earned him the 11th place with a good improvement for I.S.R. racing.

Salaquarda based his strategy on recovering places in race-1 and he managed to climb up the pack thanks to a very effective performance. In the second part of the race a drive-through penalty handed by Stewards following a contact between Stippler and the #25 Audi R8 LMS driven by Haase slowed down I.S.R. racing pace and the pairing closed their effort in 22nd.

The desire to bounce back in race two halted to a stop early in race two when the contact between the Audi R8 LMS #26 and #4 at turn one involved I.S.R. racing’s car that ended up with a puncture and the wheel arc damaged, which forced Stippler to a premature stop.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
“This has certainly not been the weekend we would have wanted. Our performance has been hit by two episodes that did not allow us to show our potential. We are disappointed for not converting fans’ support into results. We had a good feeling and could have ended both races within the top ten. We are now going to focus on the next round hoping in a trouble-free weekend”.

I.S.R. racing will be back on track for the third round of season 2019 next June 7-9th at the Red Bull Ring (A).
