05.08.2018 - One win, one pole position and the fastest lap in race two crowned an unforgettable weekend for I.S.R. Racing at Nürburgring (GER) with the Czech team for the first time winner in the ADAC GT Masters.

I.S.R. Racing had already shown an excellent pace in the previous races, but was still looking for the first win achieved today at the end of a memorable weekend with Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Frank Stippler (GER) behind the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS n.33. Since free practice sessions I.S.R. Racing crew performance has proven to be more than positive with both drivers constantly improving their lap times aiming to play a leading role in the qualifyings.

In a battled Q1, with more than thirty cars in one second, Salaquarda closed in P8 with 1'26.389, only two tenths far from the pole position. In Q2 a perfect lap driven by Stippler allowed I.S.R. Racing to claw the first pole position of the season with the 1'25.681 set by the German local hero that remained the fastest lap for the whole weekend.

In race one Salaquarda had a positive start from the fourth row, but his performance ended in the gravel of the first corner: the spin of n.28 Audi R8 LMS driven by Sheldon Van Der Linde made an unexpected chaos on the track, with Marvin Kirchhöfer (Chevrolet Corvette C7 n.1) going wide pushing the blameless Salaquarda out of the track.

I.S.R. Racing drivers faced race two conscious of having the right pace to aim to the podium. At the rolling start Stippler drove with all his experience on the long straight, entering the Mercedes Arena as the race leader. The German driver set the pace and scored the fastest lap of the race in 1'26.812, the only one under 1'27. After the pit stop, Salaquarda kept the same high level performance increasing his lead until taking an amazing victory under the checkered flag.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"What an amazing feeling to celebrate our first victory in the ADAC GT Masters! It has been a really awaited moment, because in many occasions we would have had the pace to fight for the podium, but we were sometimes slowed down by episodes, as happened today in race one. Filip and Frank realized a really strong performance since qualifying crowned with the fastest lap of the race. The car was perfect, the team chose the best strategy and this podium allows us to look at the upcoming events with great confidence and determination".

I.S.R. Racing will get back on track at Zandvoort (NL) from August 16th to 19th for the fifth round of ADAC GT Masters 2018.
