17.09.2017 - ISR racing's season in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup 2017 ended with a result below expectations in the double race just held at the circuit of Nürburgring.

The Czech outfit lined up the Audi R8 LMS n.75 driven by Kevin Ceccon (ITA) and Frank Stippler (GER) and got to the German track very motivated to end the season on a high, following the positive performance held last year and the great comeback race put in at Hungaroring in the last weekend of August.

Ceccon and Stippler showed their intentions since free practice when they confirmed their role as protagonists posting the second quickest time in the first session in 1'56.514s. The great feeling with the track, despite changing weather conditions, continued in qualifying and the Audi R8 LMS n.75 qualified for Q3. In the final session, 14 cars were all within a second and ISR Racing posted the eleventh time in 1'54.197s.

Stippler started the Qualifying Race on Saturday from the sixth row of the grid, managing to stay away from trouble at the first corner, but a contact with the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 n.66 and BMW M6 GT3 n.99, that also involved the McLaren 650S GT3 n.58 at the Dunlop kink ended Stippler's race in the gravel trap.

The pairing and team's attention was therefore focused on the Main Race. Ceccon converted his wish to counter-charge into a good progression, but a failure to the fuel pipe during lap eight forced him to an early retirement.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):

"The weekend did not go as expected. In free practice and qualifying, we showed a good pace and we had the potential to be strong in the two races, but it was a shame that two episodes prevented us to display all our speed. This has been a season in which we have fought among the protagonists in several occasions, we scored important results and took great satisfaction, such as the amazing podium in Zolder. This is why we are disappointed for not closing this round as we would have wanted, but we will work hard to bounce back".
