27.08.2017 - I.S.R Racing's weekend at the Hungaroring - penultimate round of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup 2017, ended with a positive crescendo in the Main Race scoring a fourteenth position at the end of a recovery race in which the drivers pairing gained more than ten places.

The Czech outfit managed to get the most of all chances with the n.74 Audi R8 LMS driven by Kevin Ceccon (ITA) and Frank Stippler (GER), in a round that has been more complex than expected. The n.75 sister car driven by Clemens Schmid (AUT) and Filip Salaquarda (CZ) did not partake in the Main Race due to some technical problems, despite getting on track in some sessions.

After the free practice work aimed at refining the setup, Ceccon and Stippler posted the twenty-fifth time in 1'43.419s in qualifying. The narrow and twisty nature of the circuit and the fight in the mid group did not allow I.S.R. racing's drivers to gain some ground in the Qualifying Race, that was ended in P26.

The Czech outfit switched then the focus on the Main Race. Stippler started the race from the thirteenth row of the grid and drove very effectively, posting several very quick times that allowed him to climb the classification and get back to the pits at the right time. Ceccon took the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS over for the second part of the race and kept the momentum of his team mate, crossing the line in fourteenth place after a stunning twelve place recovery.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):

"The weekend has been more complex than expected, but Kevin and Frank showed their resolution and grit in the Main Race. Getting some ground back without making mistakes or being involved in contacts was not easy on a circuit like Hungaroring that does not offer overtaking chances, but they managed to do it well".

I.S.R. racing will get again on track next September 15-17 for the closing round of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup at the Nürburgring (GER).
